I am an uruguayan math researcher currently at Universidad de la República, Montevideo, Uruguay.
My main areas of research are arithmetic dynamics, geometric group theory and algebraic number theory.
On arithmetic dynamics my main results are on arboreal representations, finding properties of the iterated Galois groups and how they relate to properties of the rational functions, such as their dynamics and their geometry. I also study applications of the iterated Galois groups to problems in number theory via the fixed-point proportion.
On geometric group theory, my main results are on groups acting on trees, specifically on groups of finite type (also known as finitely contrained groups), the congruence subgroup property and properties of subgroups generated by random elements.
On algebraic number theory, my current project is on elliptic curves with prime conductor over quadratic fields.
My PhD was at Texas A&M University under the supervision of Rostislav Grigorchuk and my master thesis was at Universidad de la República under the supervision of Gonzalo Tornaría.
I also completed my degree in in Electrical Engineering in 2017.
